    This is because computer users (are you one of them?) continuously purchase goods and services from spam emails.

    • What is ActiveX?
      It is a useful Windows technology that allows you to perform a variety of 'good stuff' with your computer. Unfortunately, hackers use it to harm computers so it is best turned off/disabled and should only be used with trusted sites.

    • What is Adware?
      This is a software package which will automatially display advertising material on computers after the user installs the software. It is a form of spyware which collects information about the computer user in order to display ads. It is usually built into freeware or shareware programs.

    • What is Bluetooth?
      It is a wireless communication technology that allows devices to communicate with each other wirelessly.

    • What is a Bot?
      It is a short for 'Robot' and is an automated program which usually performs Internet functions such as indexing Web pages for search engines. Search engines use spider bots to visit Websites to check for new or revised content to display in their search engine results pages.

    • What is a Cookie?
      It is a small data file which is stored on computers by Websites thereby allowing the Website to remember the computer user's preferences. It stores information such as on-line purchases and the times and dates that the computer user visits the particular Website. It allows the visited Websites to remember the computer user's previous visits.
